| Hello! After so long, the comm is long overdue an update, so I've poached the one off of the MHTNG FB page, run by Simon Healy, and I'm sure he wouldn't mind me pilfering the list. | Ok, probably a bit later than it should have been, but let's face it, the DVD is not as Christmassy as the title would like to imply (your turn to read the Trades Descriptions act, Karl), so it doesn't matter that much. The team for this investigation of The Wardrobe/Rifles Museum in Salisbury, Wiltshire were: Yvette Fielding - Presenter (Obviously!) Phil Whyman - Paranormal Investigator (I'm glad he's back but I already miss Ciaran.) Fred Batt - 'Historian' - that doubles as a 'Demonologist'/'Witchcraft Expert'/'Master of the Dark Arts (glad to see they're not overly dramatic about it,)/ex-NightClub/StripClub Owner/'actor'/'singer'/Karl+Yvette's best mate/'reincarnated Knight Templar'/winner of the Glass Mansion Owner's Stone Throwing Contest 2010 (joke) and have I missed anything? If I'm honest, I'd rather they'd had someone else, I'd have loved Richard Felix to come back, but I accept he probably wouldn't, but I'd have liked to have seen Dr. John Callow as we never did get the measure of him. Karl Beattie Cath Howe Stuart Torevell Chris Burton - Cameraman Matt Chance - Soundman Simon Lucas - Camera Assistant There is a thread about it on the Most Haunted Forum complete with a picture of the DVD cover, a trailer for the episode and a discussion about it too: http://www.mosthauntedforum.com/thread-most-haunted-christmas-spirits DVD available on Amazon, Play.com, HMV and elsewhere too. According to the Facebook page Most Haunted: The Next Generation, Most Haunted will be back in 2012, in the words of Karl "Bigger and Better than ever before!" MWHAHAHA! So there we are, TPTBeattie have spoken. | |
|
| So much so, I've taken part of it as an icon! (^_^) I love this picture of the team arsing around back in the good ol' days :-D , you know, before the infighting got really bad... :-( Anyway, a nice piece of nostalgia for we Most Haunted fans. (^_^) C. Series 8? Actually, I'm sure it's Series 8. | |

| The following is a message from Karl Beattie's facebook page:
"Hi Guys Just wanted to give you the official news. SkyLiving has decided not to re-commission MH which is sad news, however, we have been given our rights back, so we can go to other broadcasters with it. I think that a new home and better investigation techniques will move MH into the next phase making it bigger and better than ever. We are very excited about MH's future, so onwards and upwards my paranormal friends. xx"
Now this information leaves me with a few feelings: 1) Happiness that the show could come back somewhere else. (Possible candidates for this are rumoured to include Chanel 5 and ITV2 and possibly Bio; but this is purely speculation, as nobody at Antix has said they are 'in talks' with anyone yet) 2) Apprehension that Yvette and Karl will have learned nothing from the events of the last few years. Even before Conwaygate, the way they treated mediums (David Wells, Chris Conway and Gordon Smith to name a few) was just beyond rude, it was inexcusable; I still hold it against them, and I'm a fan of the show. 3) Wanting answers/reassurances from Antix that lessons had been learned from scandals such as Conwaygate; and that these will not be repeated. 4) Nervousness that they will not bring back people like Dr. Ciaran O'Keeffe, who is the only member of the team that was still standing at the end of the Live in Prague that I would actively tune in for. (Failing that, just give Ciaran and David Wells their own show, I'm sure it would be a huge success! :D ) 5) Worried that the show will be a Yvette/Karl/Stuart/Cath/Lesley/Fred/Paul/Brian show. I don't dislike Brian or Cath, I just prefer other (ex-)members of the team (and Ciaran). 6) Worried that the show will be a Yvette/Karl/Stuart fest; I don't mind them in very small doses, but as the main feature, again, there are others. 7) Confusion. Do I really want the show back at all if this is what we'll most likely be getting? :-/
|
| Other then amazon.co.uk do you know of a place where I could get MH dvds pretty cheap, but with the dvds in pretty good shape?
I've been looking for years for some dvds but I don't have a credit card to be able to get them off the net, I'm not allowed to use amazon (my mums a freak about stuff like ebay and amazon and things like that)?
I really hate living in Canada when all the shows I like everything happens wither in the USA of the UK lol
ON another topic has anything else been heard about whats going on with Karl/Yvette/Antix/MH or anything?

| I feel the need to distinguish between two polarities of modern scientific thought on the paranormal, for these purposes called skepticism: I call it the Skeptic/Skepdick distinction:
Skeptic: Someone who does not necessarily have strong feelings for the paranormal, but does not exclude the possibility of the paranormal, they are someone who is at least willing to give the evidence time.
Skepdick: Someone who closes their eyes and mind, they do not generally look at the evidence, preferring instead to assume that their long held beliefs are infallible. Usually strongly anti-psychic/believer to the point of rudeness or spite. Esp. One who makes derogatory comments about believers/psychics. | ... If TPTB are outright banning Most Haunted fanfic, then they are creating a situation where it is simply going underground; it's not going away, merely, it is being circulated by those "in the know" as it were. As this type of circulation is unseen by any moderators, it is unregulated, i.e. anyone can upload just about anything they like. Some stories will be extreme, some will be violent and possibly some will be pornographic in nature, but the vast majority of authors just want to upload their interpretations of the series for other fans to enjoy. TPTB don't have to read it if they don't want to, but for fans it is a way of connecting with eachother and sharing their thoughts. The majority of fans do not mean to cause any offence to anybody who is, or who has ever been, in the team.
If there were a centre for the fans to upload their stories, they could share their ideas and thoughts in a moderated way, anything from humorous stories of friendship, to carefully constructed love stories, all laden with creative merit.
And, besides, is there any real difference between Real-Person Fanfiction and Historical Fiction or Political Satire? The people about whom the stories are written today will become the historical figures of tomorrow.
This is my case, that is my evidence, and your opinions are yours to make, but I can only see positives in giving the fans a creative outlet.
Thank you for listening.

| After posting the statement to Antix website that Yvette Fielding had left Most Haunted, things went quiet on the Most Haunted front for a while. Now rumour has spread across the web that Most Haunted has ceased its run on tv. There will be a live show on LIVING this Halowe'en called Paranormal Investigation Live, the web page, and I stress page, of which can be found here: http://www.paranormalinvestigationlive.co.uk/ Their Facebook page gives the information on this show as: "This Halloween, be part of a brand new kind of TV paranormal investigation with the sole aim of uncovering hard evidence of paranormal activity. Two teams of experienced investigators, using very different approaches and equipment, will be sent into one of the UK's scariest locations to uncover the paranormal. But will the evidence they gather stand up to the scrutiny of our in-house scientific and historical experts? Will they be able to explain incidents that are seemingly beyond the range of normal? Or will they, along with you the viewer, observe experiences that lie outside of rational explanation? Join us LIVE on 30th & 31st October, exclusively on LIVING. If you dare..." http://www.facebook.com/ParanormalInvestigation As yet Antix have not commented on the rumours that Most Haunted (and MH Live) has finished/the company has gone under/MH is moving to Channel 5, so not many people are sure on the details of what's happening with it at present, so the rest remains rumour. So the (few) facts we have are: 1) Paranormal Investigation Live is replacing Most Haunted Live for this Halowe'en on LIVING. 2) The Unexplained Channel (On Cable in the UK) has been taken over by 'Showcase' but still screens some of the Unexplained Channel's shows. 3) Yvette has left Most Haunted (See previous post on this) 4) Antix are working on two new shows: http://antixproductions.com/news_2010.html 5) The bottom of the barrel has just been scraped... | |
|
| In a message on Antix website, Yvette announced that she was leaving Most Haunted after 10 years with the show (Counting the shows conception in 2000). All is explained by Yvette herself on Antix website: http://www.antixproductions.com/ Well, I suppose the only thing to say is: Discuss. | |
|
| Unfortunatly Chris Conway has decided to leave the show. A reason for his departure can be viewed on his website.
I am not pleased with Fred Batt at all, who has made remarks about Chris Conway on the Live show. But I will keep the post formal to avoid a stream of anti-Fred Batt abuse. Nor am I happy with Lesley Smith who said on an episode of the live series that Chris would have to work a bit harder with the spirit world. (Step off, he's not a performing seal) I hope that the team will find another medium, but I don't hold too much hope.
Rumour has reached me that Yvette /might/ not be on the actual shows if/when they move to Five, I hope it's not true, she is a central part of the show, but apparently she will remain on the lives, so I suppose that's something if it is true.
|
| On The Unexplained Chanel, they have a lot of programmes featuring some of the Most Haunted team and one of these is The Great Unexplained Debate.
Curiously, on this show, a few days ago, Karl Beattie (he who presents said show) spoke about his friend and colegue Phil Whyman and his fancy dress Roman uniform "If I were ever going to turn, that would have been the time" or something like that. I cried laughing. What would Yvette think? XD
Any Karl/Phil shippers out there? This one's for you.

| *Smacks self* Calm down!
Ok, I've just got back from college. I've had a very bad day with one thing and another, so you can imagine my happiness when I saw and promptly tore into my Sky mag (Don't knock the small stuff.) On pages 8-9 they had a huge picture of the team (Well, L-R, Chris Conway, Ciaran, Yvette and Karl) with the heading "Most Haunted Live: Egypt". I promptly stopped breathing for a few seconds, then I inwardly screamed with happiness and leaped into the air silently chanting "YES! YES! YES!" and punching the air (Dad was in bed). I ran 3 times around my dining room like the England football team had just won the World Cup (This is extremely unlikely) Dad came down and I showed him the article (Jabbing it with my finger so hard I might have actually hurt one of the team, and jumping up and down) He smiled and said that that'll be good. I can't wait to show Mum when she gets home. I might even show it to my fellow MH fans in college.
It's scheduled for the (Wed) 24/3/10. Why the over-reaction (to put it mildly)? I LOVE ANCIENT EGYPT!!! I have Asperger's Syndrome and one of my specialist subjects is Ancient Egypt. I love it! Most Haunted in Egypt!!!
Actually, now I think about it that was the reason Karl was in Egypt back in December, they said that he was going over to see about doing a live there. (They're brave doing it in March, most people would have done it in January, due to the weather, but they had their reasons, I suppose)
I CAN'T WAIT!!! | |
|
| To wet the appetite for the final part of the Most Haunted Live: The Silent Town I watched and rounded-up the latest installment of Yvette and Karl; Yvette and Karl's Festive Spirits.
Pt1: The team meet for a photoshoot for the new series; they look moody and brooding, this being made difficult in Yvette's case by Karl in the background with his trousers around his ankles. Ciaran is on his phone doing sexy shots of Cath and Yvette (nothing revealing, just a bit of shoulder action) before promptly doing one himself. (The 'Little Girl Lost' look becomes you Ciaran)
Pt2: Karl jets off to Egypt to see about doing an investigation there. He farts around in the hotel room playing with the hairdryer and shower cap. (He's been drinking the water, hasn't he) Meanwhile, Yvette is at home and goes out to buy a horse, her logic being (and I believe this is verbatum) "Karl went and bought a Porshe, so I thought 'what the heck I'll buy a horse'" (earlier in the year she went to America, and Karl got a Porshe without her knowing, he slept in the shed that night, I bet)
Pt3: The Christmas party. The definate hilight of this was the kareoke contest. First up, the MHLive team with their startling rendition of Band Aid's "Do They Know It's Christmas". Next Yvette and the girls with their number. Then Karl and Ciaran with their rendition of "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" (The voiceover went to great pains to point out that Ciaran O'Keeffe is the holder of a PhD) The result is something that really has to be seen to be believed. Then, the winners, Matt and Iain, easily the better singers and they went off with the £2000. Merry Christmas indeed.
Pt4: Yvette's horse arrives arrives and is welcomed by their other horses; but there is a big problem, the van gets stuck and they have to get it out before Karl gets back. Stuart takes the van and unsticks it, driving it away. Yvette, fearing Karl's reaction, goes inside. Karl gets back and goes to feed the animals, his first words to their new member being "Who the bloody hell are you?" he finds Yvette and asks her how many children/pets they have, and why there was now one more. She pretends to not know what he was talking about. They talk and make up. Yvette and Mary then make mince pies, well, they bought the pastry and probably the filling, assembling it much like an Ikea flat pack table. (but tastier) Yvette's choir of carol singers (The pride of the Manchester Women's Institute) arrive to sing the show out and are invited inside for mince pies and mulled wine. They look forward to 2010. - Location:home

| From Uncle Wiki: "Series 14 has been postponed to later on in the year to accomodate the 8 part 'Live' Series that is planned."
Wiki again: "The Live Series: During 'Most Haunted Live: The Silent Town' on January 9th, promos began advertsing 'Most Haunted: The Live Series'. Every Saturday for eight weeks, Most Haunted will broadcast LIVE for two hours. This series will be much more like the pre-recoreded series rather than the Live event. It will begin on January 23rd."
Just some questions: 1) How long will we have to wait for S14? 2) I saw the advert for the "Live" series and it looks like they are going over the Eight Faces of Evil, is it different from this? 3) If they're doing it live where are they doing it? 4) Who will be their Historian, Dr. John Callow or Miriam Cooke? Or will they take it in turns?
Looking forward to seeing them again though. Should be great! (But sadly still no David. (;_;) I know he'll probably not come back but we all miss him, especially Ciaran)
|
| Ok, so not a complete round up (I missed the first two), but nevertheless:
Night Three: Spill over from the arguement between Ciaran and Yvette; the arguement was about whether someone could have made the sounds they heared by crossing their feet. Paul Ross got into it, calling Ciaran a killjoy, before getting snapped at by Yvette. Yvette and Ciaran made it up in the episode, Yvette kisses Ciaran who went red. (More, I think, to do with embarrasment about the row than anything.)
Night Four: Some very spooky bangings and an energy was following the team. Stuart got lost. Lightbulbs were thrown at the team and nobody wanted to be alone in one of the rooms. The night concluded with Yvette comfort cuddling Cath, Karl seeing something on the stairs and Stuart getting found.
Night Five: Three pilots communicate with the team in Morse code, before getting overridden by a returning negative energy. Yvette/Ciaran moment (Arguement mentioned again, Yvette said "Love you Ciaran" he said "Love you too", Karl grunts, nothing in, I'm sure)
Well, I'll have a breif round up of nights six and seven on this thread as I see them.
|
| Ok so I've been a bit bored lately and I've made my mind up to post all my of my Most Haunted icons that I've made....but I'll be sure to do that under a cut as there is a bunch of them, and some [maybe not so good] wallpapers/backrounds that I made as well. There clickable so there a bit small, just click them [duh!] to make them bigger to see! :D :D Wow do I sound proud of my self right now...mmm don't worry the feeling won't last long.... ( Read more...Collapse ) | |
|
| I've just read in my sky mag that there will be a new series of Most Haunted starting on the 26th January at 9pm on Living! YAY!!!
*Trys to calm down*
So the new cast is looking like it consists of (List from Uncle Wiki):
Yvette Fielding Dr Ciaran O'Keeffe Dr John Callow Billy Roberts Chris Conway Patrick Matthews Karl Beattie Stuart Torevell Catherine Howe Chris Burton Matt Chance
Looking forward to it! But no David Wells though *Cries* He needs to come back, if only for Ciaran.
|
| Ok, strange, in the past five days I have dreamed about Most Haunted four times. All dreams involved David Wells (he gave me a hug in one of them and protected me) and a few have involved the entirity of the Most Haunted cast (well, by this I mean Yvette, Karl, David, Ciaran, Richard, Cath and Stuart); and one or two have definatly featured David and Ciaran as every inch the happy couple (It was a dream but still...).
In one, I think that they were sitting around my dining room table and Yvette and Karl were dancing to some music, then Stuart and Cath joined them, then Richard started dancing with his big book (*laughs and shrugs*). Now that just left David and Ciaran sitting at the table, occasionally looking at eachother and smiling, one of them might have been blushing slightly. Then Ciaran opened his mouth to ask David something and I woke up! Unbelievable!
|
| Point one: Hello, I am new to the comm and I got into Most Haunted this summer. I have only been watching for a few months, but I have clear favourites:
David Wells (he's such a sweetie you can't not like him) Richard Felix (enthusiastic and a nice man) Dr. Ciaran O'Keeffe (got to love him) Yvette Fielding (of course) Gordon Smith (I didn't like him at first because he is not David, but he is alright really) Chris Conway (He always seems a nice man) Karl, Stuart and Cath (because I find it reassuring to see the same people, and no I'm not 90)
Point two: After the exitement that was Most Haunted Live!: The Eight Faces of Evil (This peaked with the experiment with the Farraday (sp?) cages and Karl's hanging) I have come across an article on Uncle Wiki:
"Most Haunted Live will return from Saturday 9th January 2010 - Friday 15th January 2010. This was confirmed both by Yvette Fielding during a recent live and by ANTIX productions. On 11 December 2009, SRO Audiences announced that Most Haunted would return for 7 nights from RAF West Raynham. It will be broadcast on Living from 9pm-12am, an hour shorter than the show is normally broadcast for. The event will be called 'The Silent Town'."
Now I know it's only Uncle Wiki, but Living has been advertising it for days, and I'm starting to get exited. Pitty that David Wells and Richard Felix won't be there, though.
That "Eight Faces of Evil" experiment with the Farraday (sp?) cages was intense, they all looked so scared, especially Ciaran, I just wanted to cuddle them. Yvette and co must have been frightened for them, even though it was safe. Credit where it's due, that was brave; not sure that I would have done it, though.
Speak to you soon! Merry Christmas! :D
Vicki. | |
|
| Ok, yes I know this place has been well for lack of a better word DEAD for the last little while, but I'm hoping it will pick up now that some more people have joined! But with the end of semester coming up fast and finals, there's not much time to do anything other then work and study. But come summer, hopefully, and the months after I hope to pick this place up a bit.
Do any of you guys have any ideas about what I could do? I have a few ideas but I just don't have the time yet, but I'll try and do some capping, if you would like to see some pictuers from most haunted episodes or something.
